hi all i'm noni1974.i joined awhile ago but i have not posted at all.i have been around.some may know me some may not.i just wanted to say hi.. a little history of me.i was born in.i got baptized at 19 years old and left at 23.i am dissacociated.i've been free for 8 years.i am not shunned by my parents.i am lucky by most standards.i have one sister and one brother.both are in.my sister shunns me a little.she lives in a diffrant state than me so we don't talk all the time.but when she visits here i am allowed to see her sons.they know me as auntie noni.the last time i spoke to my brother was in january.he shunns me totaly.. i would rather be shunned than live a lie.so hello to all here.nice to meet you.

I agree you are doing a good thing for your mama. It is shameful how the WTBTS treats the elderly. They don't even have any organized helping hands type ministries at all, and the elderly suffer the most.

i can think of loads but the best one that i got to actually see without causing wwiii was when two friends were staying over.
one of them said get him something to eat...so me and his brother went and got an oxo cube and unwrapped it.
My ex husband was a real macho mean abusive latino. He always used to put women down, we were all so stupid to him. (I stayed 16 years because I thought Jehovah expected it unless he commited adultery, he finally did) After the divorce I found out he was online all the time. Sooooooo I found his little spanish chat room, (I speak spanish) and I flirted a bit, he took the bait. Sooooooooooo I carried on a conversation...well many of them...he thought I was this aweseom lady names Rosa Rubiooooo (roll the toungue now)
He invited me to go on vacation, wanted to meet me...I got busy and forgot about him. Well, come to find out he went looking for me. In NEW MEXICO where I told him I was a school teacher in a small town, the sickoo. He came back without his online love. (I wasn't THAT bad, NO sexual or romantic stuff)
I forgot about it and about a year later on a child visitation exchange he starts with the "women are so stupid" routine. I said "Oh stupid as Rosa Rubio?" He looked off into space and says "what happened to her..hey WAIT HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ROSA!!!"
It took him a few minutes to figure it out. Then he says "YOU B**CH"
He never again started his; women are so stupid routine again.
That is as bad a prank as I ever did.

i was reading some of the first " topics " on this db and i noticed that a few former elders and publishers .
were stumbled by this date.... i was born after 1975 and i'd really appreciate any comments from brothers and sisters who were around .
what i've noticed from personal experience is that many brothers and sisters feel that only " a few " were stumbeled .
What rubs salt in old wounds is dubs claiming 1975 never happened.

I, like so many of you all started at the age of 9 VERY aware that Armegdddon was coming when I turned 15. OH HOW LOVELY! Everything I thought, and did revolved around the end of the world. How FREAKING psycho is that!
My mind was controlled by this hideous lie, over and over. No normal happy innocent childhood thinking of growing up, having a boyfriend, going to the prom, having a carreer, getting married, going to school. None of that NORMAL stuff. No I got to live in FEAR of reminding myself to scream when I got raped because the PERSECUTION had to come before Armageddon, and I didn't want to be disfellowshipped for sexual sins. So how painful is it when they pull out your fingernails and torture you? THIS IS WHAT I THOUGHT ABOUT AS A LITTLE CHILD AND TEENAGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank Goodness I survived. My two best friends didn't. They self destructed until there was nothing left. My two childhood girlfriends that I am supposed to know and have in my life, be my bridemaids, call on whenever...GONE
ugh... yesterday (saturday) we did spring cleaning, in the rain!!!
we were outside for about 3 hours in the freezing rain, raking leaves and spreading mulch.
just so we could look good for the memorial... we weren't even allowed to go inside to warm up because the had already cleaned everything and we were soaked.
I'd rather have dog snot on me than to clean the hall in the RAIN!

Way back in the day I walked about 10 miles to the Kingdom Hall because the sisters somehow forgot me, only to be told that I was not worthy to fold pamphlets by de lovely old Sister Flowers. What a crank she was.

I have been wanting to APOLOGIZE for the interuptions! There was so much more I wanted to talk about. My son left with a wad and a smile! We had had such a great day with him and his cousin. We walked around Pioneertown Preserve and Adam the cousin (city boy) was quite enchanted!
Everytime I go to Watercanyon I'll be thinking of you Dear Sistah! My son played there too! Open Mic night. We have so much in common.

i just finished reading this book.
i've got to say, that last chapter was amazing and so inspiring.
i haven't felt that good after reading a book in a long time.
On page 296 of C of C, you will see that Ray was on a leave of absence when the Inquisitions started. Up to this point he had shared his thoughts with several people in casual conversations. He was not the only one who was discussing dates and such.
My opinion of the book so far is that he truly wanted to believe he was in the truth, had selflessly gave himself up to serve. He wrote honestly about his feelings. On page 304 he was first told that his name came up during the Inquisition into apostasy.
By page 314 Ray confesses that he was an emotional wreck. Not just because of what they were doing to HIM, but what they were doing to his long time friends! He states that he was "in shock." Keep in mind that during this Ray did not know what even WE know now. He reflects on this on the very last page, 408. He wishes he had found out maybe a decade earlier so that it would not be so hard to start over again. He wrote that he is 84 now.
Whoever accused him of staying in after he found out truths about dates is full of it. This was a slow process for him, just like most of us went through.

In Southern California EVERYONE believed Armageddon was coming in 1975. EVERYONE.

All of your ideas are good ones. My very first thought was; he needs to hook up with our Danny Haszard! I am an activist too; Watchtower and animal activists against cruel factory farming. I am disabled so physicaly there is not much I can do so I work through the computer. I have a financial benefactor that provides me all the Crisis of Conscience books I need. I make sure that eberyone who wants one, gets one.
I talk to JWs every chance I get. I invite them to my house via the official internet site, I talk to them when they have their little tables out in front of the stores (they don't do that as much anymore) I think that had the greatest impact. The last to come to the gate recieved a great bundle of information from Silent Lambs and my husband who never was a JW talked to them all about it! Men respect men much more than women, especially JW men (no offense). But that don't apply to you because you are OUT!!!!!

just got a call from my best friend, who her and her husband have been fading for some time.
apparently her husband arived at work (he owns his own business) only to be dropped in on by a relative "elder"!
I have thought that due to the availability of information about 607 and the UN, blood issue etc. The only ones who will be left in are going to be in different states of cognitive dissonence, denial, neurotic, and just seriously imbalanced people.
That is why we have zero growth in industrialized countries. All one needs to do now is over come fear, type in "Jehovah's Witness" in the search bar, and read, think, cry, grieve, and leave. Even those just looking for the official site, will happen apon hundreds of informative forums, chats and websites.
How can a rational person believe it doesn't matter?
I am afraid it will get more cultic and controlling. Could it possibly get any worse? Yes, I'm afraid so.
